To get rid of those mineral deposits (white marks) on your outdoor cushions, you can try the following steps:
- Brush Off Loose Residue: First, use a soft brush or dry cloth to gently brush off any loose, powdery residue from the surface.
- Vinegar Solution: Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Vinegar helps dissolve mineral deposits.
- Apply and Scrub: Spray the solution onto the affected areas. Let it sit for a few minutes, then gently scrub with a soft brush or sponge.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse the cushions well with clean water to remove any vinegar and loosened minerals.
Dry Completely: Let the cushions dry fully in the sun, preferably standing up or propped so air can circulate.
If the marks are stubborn, you can repeat the process. For really tough stains, you can use a mild dish soap with the vinegar solution, but always test a small area first to make sure it doesn’t affect the fabric colour.
Tip: To help prevent future marks, bring in the cushions inside during heavy rain, use a rain cover and let them dry in a well-ventilated area.
Please make sure you bring cushions in the winter; otherwise, you will have issues.
Please refer to the care guide for this product also. I always cover it when not in use, and this prolongs the use of the furniture by several years. We will be launching some refinishing stains next year also to help with the longevity of our wooden range.
